You cannot build future-proof communications without facing the truth

We talk a lot about AI, ESG, reputation, and future-proof communications. These are important topics, but for the industry to renew itself, we must first address a more uncomfortable question: how did the Hungarian communications market lose so much of its credibility?

The communications industry didn't lose its credibility overnight, nor was it due to external factors. The current situation is the result of a series of decisions, compromises, unethical campaigns, distorted competition, and convenient silences.

There were compromises that may have seemed elegant or practical at the time. In the long run, however, they contributed to the fact that many people today - not without reason - view the communications sector with distrust.

Talking about the future is only worth it if we are honest

Of course, the industry needs to address the impact of artificial intelligence, sustainability, reputation management, and the future of communications. These topics will fundamentally define the coming years.

However, renewal cannot begin solely with technological trends, new tools, and buzzwords. As long as we don't speak honestly about the industry's credibility issues and take concrete steps to restore trust, the discourse on the future can easily become an elegant escape route.

It is not enough to argue about the color of the sails while the ship is sinking.

Facing the truth is not self-flagellation

Uncovering the mistakes of the past does not mean stigmatizing the profession. On the contrary: facing the truth can be the first step toward a more authentic, transparent, and responsible communications market.

This requires not only new professional guidelines but also more consistent ethical standards, fairer competition, and greater personal accountability. It requires industry players to speak about professional values even when there is a real risk in doing so.

Authenticity cannot be replaced by communication tools. Trust is built not through campaigns, but through consistent decisions.
